Goal Setting and Goal Boards

Hi Everyone,

it's been awhile since my last post and a lot has been going on in my life.  Before I go into all that let me talk about a few things to help you make positive changes in your life.

Let's start with something easy, and overall quick to see.  Sit down and make a list of things you want to accomplish in your life over the next year.  I don't care if the list has 5 things or 100 things.  Just list everything you want to accomplish over the next one year.

After you have your list, go to the store and buy a poster board.  It doesn't matter what color as long as it's a color that makes you "happy" when you look at it.  We're going to make a "goal board."  My goals always include the desire for money to flow easily and often into my life, so I usually purchase a green goal board.  Green reminds me of money, and I believe green helps to attract money...and since many of the things I want to accomplish involve an exchange of money I choose green.  However, as I said choose a color that makes you happy and has meaning to you.

Next locate pictures and words that reflect the goals you want to accomplish over the next year. You can print these images from the Internet or cut them from magazines.  It doesn't matter where you find them, just collect them and print them out or cut them out.

Once you have images of your desired goals, glue them to your new "goal board." Arrange them anyway you'd like, just so you can see them.  Once your goal board is complete, hang it somewhere you'll be sure to see it often.  I have mine hanging on the wall next to my bed.  It's the first thing I see when I wake up and the last thing I see before going to sleep.

Use this board to help you visualize your goals as being COMPLETED.  Feel the feeling of you will feel as if you  ALREADY have accomplished these goals.  For example, if you want a new home...As you look at the picture of your new home that's hanging on your goal board...think about how you're enjoying your new home.  You might think (or say aloud) something like:

I love my new home.  It's so beautiful with it's 3 bedrooms and 2 baths.  I love my master bedroom. It has everything I love. There's my beautiful fireplace and the deck overlooking the back yard.  I especially love the ocean view from my master bedroom.  The attached master bath is perfect.  My spouse (mate, whoever) love that we both have our own sink.  He loves the shower with the raindrop shower head and I love the whirlpool bath.

My new home is nice and spacious.  My spouse and I both have our own home office.  It makes doing our work so much easier and we don't interfere in each others "space.'  He can do all his accounting work and I can do all my book writing in peace.  Both of our rooms have such beautiful views.  There are nice large windows where we can see the ocean and smell the ocean air when we open the windows.  It's such a pleasure to work in such a beautiful space.

We both love the downstairs area because this is where we do our entertaining.  I love to cook and the kitchen in our home is just perfect.  I have a center isle with a pot and pan rack overhead.  I love my oven, no bending needed.  Everything in my kitchen is at waist level or higher.   We have a refrigerator and a freezer.  Our dishwasher is state of the art. It's both quiet and conserves water.  The kitchen is the perfect shape.  It's "U" shaped and opens out to the dining area. It has a bar area so people can sit and chat with me while I'm preparing meals.  I love my pantry, It has slide out shelves and built in racks for spices.  It's a beautiful and perfect kitchen for my needs.

Our living room has Cathedral ceilings that are over 12 feet high.  I love how high the ceilings are because it makes the space feel roomier and we can have the most beautiful Christmas trees each holiday.  Plus the fireplace is situated perfectly.  I love all the stone work around the fireplace and how it has an 18" ledge around the fireplace.  The colors are perfect, too.

When the weather is warm we love to entertain out on our patio.  We have beautiful ocean views and sunsets to die for.  Sometimes it can get a little cool at night so we have 2 heat lamps.  This way we can enjoy the outdoor area even if the weather cools off a bit.

It's so relaxing and peaceful here.  We love our new home very much and look forward to many happy occasions here.

Okay does that give you an idea of how to visualize your goal?  Whether it be a home or job or mate.  Visualize it as being accomplished.

I see see this goal board working for me.  Everyday more and more of what I want to accomplish is coming to me.

As I said earlier a lot has been going on in my life.  The major thing is my book.  I've nearly completed writing the manuscript, so I've been shopping it to literary agents and guess what?  I now have an agent.  I am THRILLED. My next step will to have some editing work done and then my agent will be shopping the manuscript to publishers.

Soon, my goal of being a published author is going to be a reality.  Prior to knowing about the Law of Attraction I wouldn't have thought this possible. I know now without a doubt **ANYTHING** I want in life is possible. All I have to do is BELIEVE it can happen and it WILL.

So, Stop Dreaming and Do IT...whatever your "it" may be.

Thoughts from a Non-Conformist

Years ago I finished high school early. I was only 16 years old.  I enrolled into junior college and obviously I was the youngest person in my class.  I took extra care NOT to let anyone know my true age.

One day I was in my philosophy class, and we were given that age old question to debate: If a tree fell in the forest and no one was there to hear it, would it still make a sound?

Way back then as a young teen of only 16, I found the question "easy" to answer (at least in my determination).  Everyone was split into groups and everyone was bickering back and forth, but pretty much they all came to the same conclusion, which was "of course it would make sound.  Just because no one is there to hear it, doesn't mean it wouldn't make sound."

Then enters little non-conforming, and non-mass thinking me.  I turned around and said:
I think you are all thinking about all wrong.  I don't t think the trees (or anything for that matter) makes "sound."  They looked at me like I was crazed.  So, I continued:  When a tree falls and hits the ground it makes a "vibration."  We as humans have things called "ears," and because the way our ear is made it was designed to interpret the fall of a tree, its vibration, as "sound" or "noise" or whatever name you want to give to the audible interpretation of the vibration.

I swear, they looked at me like I had sprouted a 3rd head right there in front of them.  They all thought I was "nuts," which on one hand I found extremely amusing in a Philosophy class considering the point of philosophy.  On the other hand, even non-conforming me didn't want to make too many waves, since I was so young.  I never really had an easy time in school because learning came very easy to me.  This is not to brag, it's just a statement of fact.  Momentarily when I got out of high school I was thrilled to be going to college because I thought I would FINALLY be with people more at my level intellectually.....then I quickly found out they were all 25, 30, 40 years old and struggling in many cases to learn....and I wasn't struggling and I was only 16. Yes, figured it out pretty quick to keep my mouth shut.

My point is that I was thinking of "vibrations" and how we interpret them over 20 years ago.  Now, there are teachings from people or entities like Abraham-Hicks (from Jerry and Esther Hicks).  My whole life I have been "fighting" against the Church (in my case the Catholic Church). NOTHING they said "felt right" to me.  Nothing rang true to my inner being. `I tried taking the Church out of the picture and read the Bible, that didn't help.  The Bible was written, re-written, and words in it have been manipulated through the generations to basically control the masses...even back when it was conceived.  So, much of what's in that book, left me so unfulfilled.

Abraham-Hicks and his teachings FINALLY ring true with my inner being.  So much of what he says are things I have felt.  I highly suggest you read The Law of Attraction Series from Abraham-Hicks, by Esther and Jerry Hicks to learn more. Maybe you too will finally feel like you've been freed from the constraints of whatever belief system you come from.

Tired of Being a Victim? Then STOP!

If you're tired of being a victim, then STOP!! The only way you can stop being a victim is by not talking and acting like a victim.  For some reason our society LOVES the "victim" mentality.

It seems more and more each day people are "victims" of something:

-Victims of the bad economy
-Victims of violence
-Victims of circumstance
-Victims of their upbringing

I think I'll start a new one:  Victims of being victims.

Please...Stop with all the "victim" talk and thinking.  Thanks to the Law of Attraction we know that our thoughts create our reality; our world.  So, if you constantly talk about being a victim (of what ever) I GUARANTEE that you will draw MORE of those situations into your life.

At the risk of sounding cold, harsh and uncaring I have the following statements to make:

So, you lost your job?  GET OVER IT!! Whining and complaining is NOT going to change the situation, and if you took a good look at the situation it's probably a blessing.  I would be willing to bet that you more than likely were in a job you hated and only went to each day "for the money."  I'm sure there's something you've always wanted to do, but didn't because you were too busy working at that job you HATED.  So, look at your job loss as a gift..Go and do whatever it is you've been dying to do!

To all you victims of violence:
I am sure whatever you experienced was tragic and painful for you, but does living in fear (or anger) really help you in your life NOW?  Try to look at that experience and learn something from it (besides anger, fear and/or hatred).  I know...I can just feel your fingers reaching for the keyboard to send me hate mail...but if you look at whatever happened,  can you see the part you played in the situation?
Perhaps you were hanging with the "wrong" crowd?  Maybe you constantly thought about a situation over and over and your fear of whatever it was happening to you.  Instead of keeping that "thing" at bay all your thoughts did was bring that fear to fruition.

To the people who say "I'm a victim of circumstance.":
Unless you're under 7 years old (the age of reasoning) I don't buy into you being a "victim of circumstance."  Even children can change their circumstances by going to a trusted adult.  If you are an adult you have many options available to help you get out of whatever your so-called perceived circumstance might be.

If you have a job you hate...take a class...even if only once per semester, and work towards improving yourself so you can find a better job.  Send out resumes (yes even in this economy) at worst you'll get some interview experience and at best you'll get a job offer. Better yet, start your own business.

If you're in a relationship and you're not happy.  Do some soul searching.  Usually we are not happy with ourselves, so before you kick  your significant other to the curb...explore what exactly is making you unhappy.  Because wouldn't it be a shame to kick your partner to the curb only to find out the "trouble maker" is stilling living with you because it is YOU?

Lastly, to you "victims of your upbringing or childhood."

Please just STOP IT ALREADY!!!  I know..I sound cold, cruel, heartless and bunch of other unprintable adjectives...but really? How long are you going to blame your parents for the way you are?  You could be 25, 35, 70 years old now and you are STILL blaming hour parents.  When the heck do YOU become responsible for YOUR life???

Unless you are chained up in a dungeon in the basement of your parent's home, please stop with the mantra "my parents did........" You are an adult.  Remember?  This is what most people looked forward to for the first 18 years of life.  They wanted to be an adult to MAKE THEIR OWN DECISIONS AND CHOICES.

It's all YOU...You can either choose to live a fulfilling life and go after what you desire in life or you can sit in your pity pool and wallow in what was, what could have been and what will never be.

Bottom line:  Either way it's ALL ON YOU and no one else. So, you can either be a victim or a victor...take your choice.

The Law of Attraction is Bringing Postive Changes Everyday

Hi Everyone,

each and everyday I see the positive changes in my life thanks to now knowing how to use the Law of Attraction to bring about these changes.

I'm putting the finishing touches on my book, and in the mean time I am shopping it around to the publishers.  I know this book is going to be very popular once it's released to the public (especially here in Southern California).

Anything you want you can get.  All you have to do is visualize it with feeling and see "it" as being fulfilled in the "now."  Don't visualize it as coming to you in the future. Feel "it" (whatever your it may be) as if you already have achieved the item(s) or goal(s).

While you may not manifest a $1million dollars tomorrow (though you could if your thought was that pure), you will see changes each and everyday happening around you.

I just heard about a game called the "Dollar Bill Game" to help bring wealth into your life.  I have no idea who created the game, but it sounded fun, so Ive started doing this myself.

Take a $1.00 bill and on the back of the bill write with as much positive energy as possible:
"May you be blessed with Love, Wealth and Health"

Take the bill and put it someplace where someone will find it "by chance."  You can leave it anywhere, just don't be seen leaving it and do not try to imagine who will find it.  Do this one time per week. Also tell the Universe you enjoy the increased prosperity you are receiving (always state your intentions in the positive and as if they are happening in the "now").

Not only will the LOA bring you more money, but you'll bring some joy into another person's life.

Make sure when you do this "game" you have feelings of pure joy and sincerity.  If you harbor any thoughts of negativity towards this activity don't participate.  You want to send only positive energy to the Universe.

Personally I love the idea of this "game."  You never know that that $1.00 could mean to another person.

With much Love and Light,
Theresa

The Law of Attraction

Hi Everyone,
I cannot tell you how excited I am about the Law of Attraction, but more specifically the teachings of Abraham-Hicks.  One of the things that Abraham teaches is that if something feels "off" then it means you're separated from your source and you probably should NOT be doing that thing that makes you feel off.

I wish with all my heart and soul I had heard these words decades ago.  I was "born and raised" to be a Roman Catholic,  and while most children will swallow what's told to them by the adults in their life I never did. Just about everything the Catholic religion spouted felt "off" to me.  I grew up going to Catholic school, and I'm sure I drove many a nun to visit Johnny Walker on  regular basis.

I constantly questioned EVERYTHING they were teaching me because NONE of it made any sense to me.  When I got older, I studied the history of Catholicism and found out that most, if not all of it was either ripped off from the Jews or or from Paganism. Time after time what they had been teaching could be proven wrong or false or non-existent.

The teachings of Abraham-Hicks not only "feels" spot on, but I've never been happier in my entire life...we're talking over 4 decades of struggling to understand all wiped away in one fell swoop.  I feel like I've emerged from a "coma" and can start the life I was meant to live.

I suggest EVERYONE read the teachings of Abraham....and you too will find his words opening doors to making a life changing experience in your life.

What I've Been Doing

Hi Everyone,

I apologize for not keeping up with my posts, at least not here.  I've been a busy little beaver.  I was following my own advice of "Stop Dreaming Just Do It."  One of my passions is bargain hunting and getting the most I can for my money.  I have another blog devoted strictly to coupons, promos and other bargains.  Please check it out at:  discountqueen.wordpress.com

The next thing I've been working on is getting paid to write.  I am now a contributing writer to Associated Content and you read all my articles by visiting:  http://www.associatedcontent.com/user/621767/theresa_okeefe.html
I love writing, sharing my opinion or my knowledge with others and to get paid for something I enjoy doing makes it even a greater pleasure.

I have also put together a website with handbags all being offered at $20.00 each or less.  You can view my site at:
www.20bucksnless.com

I am also still working on compiling my book and setting up a new business venture.  So, all in all I have been very busy "doing it" rather than just dreaming.  Again, that's no excuse for me not keeping up with my blog here.  I promise to do better and update you on a more regular basis.

I hope everyone is doing well and allowing the Universe to manifest all your desires.  Remember you need to be open to receiving gifts from the Universe.  Don't turn anyone or anything away.

Until next time,
Theresa

Better Living For Less

Hello Everyone!

I want to let all my loyal readers know that I'm working on an e-book that will be filled with money saving tips on how to live better for less.

Who amongst us hasn't been touched by the recent downturn in the economy and this so-called "recession."  I know we can all use ways to live the best we can on the income we're receiving which most likely has been reduced.

I will let you all know when my new e-book is ready for purchase.  In the meantime, don't forget to: Stop Dreaming and Do It, whatever your "it" is.  NOW is the time to take action, NOT later.
